If you’re in the market for a new fifth wheel, one of the most popular options is a camera system. Usually the fifth wheel camper camera system uses two video cameras mounted back-to-back behind the fifth wheel. When the truck is in reverse, the in-cab monitor displays video from the rear-facing camera. A driver can see what’s going on around the fifth wheel, and if something’s wrong, they can intervene before it’s too late.

The rear view camera is located above the full-width rear window, while the side view cameras are mounted shoulder-high forward of the cross-over storage doors. The wiring for the rear camera runs across the roof of the fifth wheel, held down by Decor, and enters a corner molding. Once inside, it follows the frame of the fifth wheel to the front storage compartment. The wires for the side view cameras go through the front storage compartment, where they are zip-tied to a 7-way cable.
