I. Blind Spots of Large Vehicles: The Invisible Danger Zones

Due to their large size and complex structure, large vehicles (such as trucks, commercial vehicles, and engineering vehicles) have multiple blind spots that can easily lead to traffic accidents. Below are the common blind spot classifications and their hazardous ranges:

1. Semi-Blind Zones (A/B/C Zones)

Location: On both sides and the rear of the vehicle.

Characteristics: Drivers can partially observe these areas through the side mirrors, but significant risks still exist. The specific range varies with the vehicle size.

2. Full Blind Zones (D/E Zones)

D Zone: Located directly behind the vehicle, this area is completely out of the driver’s view through the side mirrors or direct line of sight. Pedestrians or vehicles entering this zone cannot be detected by the driver.

E Zone: Due to the obstruction by the A-pillar of the cab, there is a blind spot directly in front of the vehicle, close to the front bumper. Small objects or pedestrians in this area are difficult to detect.

3. Blind Spots at the Front, Rear, and Sides

Front Blind Spot: The area 1-2 meters directly in front of the vehicle is a semi-blind zone, where obstacles close to the vehicle body are hard to detect.

Rear Blind Spot: The area directly behind the vehicle is a full blind zone, especially since there is no rear window in most vehicles.

Left Side Blind Spot: Near the rear of the cargo box, although relatively safer, there is still a risk around the rear wheels.

Right Side Blind Spot: This is the most dangerous area. The zone extending 1.5 meters from the right side of the cab to the end of the cargo box is particularly hazardous, especially when the vehicle is turning, as it can easily lead to severe accidents.

II. Why Radar Systems Are Needed?

Traditional rear-view systems rely heavily on cameras, which have obvious limitations. For example, the coverage of their field of view is insufficient: cameras have limited angles of view, and by the time they detect obstacles, the objects are often too close to the vehicle. Another limitation is the delayed response: drivers depend on visual prompts and cannot receive early warnings.

Le 3 décembre, grâce aux efforts conjoints et au soutien de tous les collègues, la deuxième activité d'amélioration des propositions de Luview s'est achevée avec succès. Cet événement a non seulement mis en valeur l'esprit d'innovation et les compétences professionnelles de notre équipe, mais a également donné un nouvel élan au développement continu de l'entreprise.

Contexte et objectifs

Alors que la concurrence sur le marché devient de plus en plus féroce, l'entreprise doit continuellement optimiser ses processus internes, améliorer son efficacité et réduire ses coûts afin de rester compétitive. JY-PT10 is Luview’s new generation of BSD blind spot monitoring and lane change assist radar system. It uses a 77GHz frequency band millimeter-wave radar sensor. By emitting dual beam fan-shaped electromagnetic waves forward and backward, and receiving the reflection of the target echo, it determines whether there are obstacles in front and behind, and feeds back the relative distance, relative speed, and angle between the obstacle and the radar. The JY-PT10 blind spot millimeter-wave radar system can detect the farthest distance of up to 40 meters. When a target is detected within the warning range, it issues a level one and level two alarm signal. The system adopts an FMCW (Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave) modulation mode, capable of detecting the distance, speed, and angle of moving targets, with high precision in distance and speed measurement.
