LUVIEW radar system: a solution for large vehicle blind spot hazards

、Blind Spots of Large Vehicles: The Invisible Danger Zones

Due to their large size and complex structure, large vehicles (such as trucks, commercial vehicles, and engineering vehicles) have multiple blind spots that can easily lead to traffic accidents. Below are the common blind spot classifications and their hazardous ranges:

1. Semi-Blind Zones (A/B/C Zones)

Location: On both sides and the rear of the vehicle.

Characteristics: Drivers can partially observe these areas through the side mirrors, but significant risks still exist. The specific range varies with the vehicle size.

2. Full Blind Zones (D/E Zones)

D Zone: Located directly behind the vehicle, this area is completely out of the driver’s view through the side mirrors or direct line of sight. Pedestrians or vehicles entering this zone cannot be detected by the driver.

E Zone: Due to the obstruction by the A-pillar of the cab, there is a blind spot directly in front of the vehicle, close to the front bumper. Small objects or pedestrians in this area are difficult to detect.

3. Blind Spots at the Front, Rear, and Sides

Front Blind Spot: The area 1-2 meters directly in front of the vehicle is a semi-blind zone, where obstacles close to the vehicle body are hard to detect.

Rear Blind Spot: The area directly behind the vehicle is a full blind zone, especially since there is no rear window in most vehicles.

Left Side Blind Spot: Near the rear of the cargo box, although relatively safer, there is still a risk around the rear wheels.

Right Side Blind Spot: This is the most dangerous area. The zone extending 1.5 meters from the right side of the cab to the end of the cargo box is particularly hazardous, especially when the vehicle is turning, as it can easily lead to severe accidents.

二、Why Radar Systems Are Needed?

Traditional rear-view systems rely heavily on cameras, which have obvious limitations. For example, the coverage of their field of view is insufficient: cameras have limited angles of view, and by the time they detect obstacles, the objects are often too close to the vehicle. Another limitation is the delayed response: drivers depend on visual prompts and cannot receive early warnings.

In contrast, the Luview radar system can achieve precise detection——by using radar waves to sense obstacles in advance and combining this with a multi-level alarm from a beeper, it buys drivers valuable reaction time. Moreover, the system is applicable in all weather conditions, unaffected by light or weather, and has strong penetration capabilities.

三、Luview Radar System Solutions

1. Ultrasonic Radar System (PT06/PT08)
Applicable Scenarios: Short-range obstacle detection (0-3 meters), such as reversing and parking assistance.

  • PT06 System Features

(1)Precise Distance Measurement: Digital radar technology with low error rate.

(2)Waterproof and Dustproof: IP67 protection rating, suitable for complex environments.

(3)Low Power Consumption Design: <2.5W, reducing vehicle load.

(4)Visual Indication: The display shows obstacle distances in segments through green, yellow, and red lights (e.g., full red light alarm within 0.6 meters).

  • PT08 System Enhanced Features

(1)Video Integration: Supports AHD high-definition cameras (720P input/output) and displays radar signals and real-time video in split-screen mode.

(2)Intelligent Triggering

Non-Reverse Mode: Automatically switches to split-screen alarm when an obstacle is detected within 1.5 meters.

Reverse Mode: Continuous split-screen display with video on the left and vehicle model + obstacle distance on the right.

Market Competitiveness: Wide voltage input (12-48V), customizable vehicle models, and low power consumption (<5W).

2. PT09 Millimeter-Wave Radar System

(1)Applicable Scenarios: Collision warning for medium and low-speed vehicles (detection range of 15-30 meters).

(2)Core Functions

Dynamic Target Detection: Capable of identifying pedestrians (up to 15 meters) and vehicles (up to 30 meters) with real-time warnings.

Multi-Level Alarm: Combines flashing video frame colors (green/yellow/red) with a beeper to indicate risk levels.

Strong Anti-Interference Capability: Suitable for complex road conditions to avoid false alarms.

(3)Technical Highlights

Video and Radar Signal Overlay: Intuitively displays the surrounding environment by overlaying radar signals on the video.

Wide Voltage Support (12-32V): Compatible with various vehicle models.

四、System Advantages and Market Positioning

(1)Core Competitiveness of the Luview Radar System

Precision and Reliability: Digital radar technology combined with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) certification ensures stable signals and strong resistance to interference.

Flexible Adaptability: Wide voltage design, low power consumption, and water/dust resistance meet the stringent requirements of commercial vehicles.

Visual Interaction: AHD high-definition display with intelligent split-screen enhances driver decision-making efficiency.

The Luview Radar System integrates ultrasonic and millimeter-wave technologies to provide a comprehensive blind-spot monitoring solution for large vehicles. Whether for short-range precise parking or mid-to-long-range collision warning, it effectively reduces the risk of accidents and ensures the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Looking to the future, we will continue to optimize product performance and promote the popularization and application of intelligent driving safety technologies.
